Now is the time for your child to learn the fundamentals of baseball! Our baseball program seeks to lay a foundation for parents to spend quality time together with their children while learning how to properly teach and support them in sports, watch them have fun, learn new skills, and meet new friends. Sports provide a great opportunity to teach values like caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. YMCA Youth Sports help young people by emphasizing skill development and having fun!

Fall is right around the corner and that means it’s time for our Fall sports leagues to start back up! This Fall we are offering fun and engaging sports leagues for your children to enjoy! We are offering soccer, baseball, and volleyball. We will have a parent meeting on August 29^th, 2023 in the Ruby C. Hunt Library at 6:30 PM. We will have a coaches meeting for anyone interested in coaching on August 31^st, 2023 in the Ruby C. Hunt YMCA Library at 6:30 PM.

Please see the details below:

Location:

• All skills nights, games (unless interleague is necessary), and practices will take place at the Boiling Springs Park baseball fields.
  • Located behind Boiling Springs Town Hall
  • If interleague play for older age groups (7 years old and up) is necessary the information will be relayed to parents and coaches as soon as possible.

Skills Nights:

• Skills nights will be for any players 7 years or older.
• There will be no skills night for any player that is younger than 7 years older.
• 7-8 Machine Pitch: September 5th @ 6:00 PM
• 9-10 Player Pitch: September 5th @ 6:00 PM
• 11-12 Player Pitch: September 5th @ 7:00 PM

Registration:

• Registration will go from July 17^th to September 8^th, 2023.
• On-time registration will be from July 17^th to August September 3^rd, 2023.
  • Age groups may be capped after on-time registration due to team size limits. Please sign up during on-time registration to secure your spot.
  • Late registration will be from September 4^th to September 8^th, 2023.

A late fee of $10.00 will be charged to anyone who signs up after August 27^th, 2023.

Member Rate: $37.50

Non-Member Rate: $65.00

Financial Assistance available upon request.

Practices:

• Practices will start the week of September 11^th, 2023
• Practices will be on a weekday evening, excluding Wednesdays.
  • This means your practices could be on a Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday starting anytime from 5:15 PM to 8:00 PM
    • Practice times may be earlier than normal for outdoor sports due to a lack of daylight. Please consider this when signing up.
  • We allow our volunteer coaches to pick their practice days to best fit their schedule since they are giving their time to volunteer for our community.
  • Specific practice days and times for each coach will be posted under the sport they are coaching as soon as we know it, but it may not be communicated until the initial message from your coach.
    • This initial message will come sometime after your child’s skills night or (if your child does not have a skills night or misses skills night) after September 5^th, 2023.

Games:

• Games will start the week of October 2^nd, 2023.
• Games for all sports will be on a weekday evening, excluding Wednesdays.
  • This means your games could be on a Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday starting anytime from 5:15 PM to 8:00 PM.
  • Game times may be earlier than normal for outdoor sports (baseball and soccer) due to a lack of daylight. Please consider this when signing up.
  • Ages 7 years and older will play an eight-game season. Ages younger than 7 years old will play a six-game season.

Participant Requests:

• We do accept requests for specific teams or coaches; however, we ask that any request be made out of necessity (transportation, family, work schedule, etc.)
• Please only request a teammate or coach if you absolutely need it.
• With this in mind, NOT ALL REQUESTS WILL BE MET AND WE DO NOT PROMISE THAT ANY REQUEST WILL BE MET.

Y-Gametime:

• For all game scheduling we will be using Y-Gametime.
• The game links will be sent out as soon as they are made.
• We ask that all parents and coaches check Y-Gametime on a regular basis to see any updates to the schedule.
  • We aim to communicate all these updates to coaches; however, every individual is responsible to stay up to date with their game schedule and any changes that may happen.

TeamReach App:

• Creating a TeamReach Account
  • Download TeamReach from the App Store or Play Store.
  • Enter your Group Code
  • Sign up with an Email Address, Google, or Facebook Account.
  • Enter your profile details and press continue to finish.
• Joining a TeamReach Group
  • Open TeamReach to the main page.
  • Tap the box at the top of the screen that says “Group Code” and type in your code.
  • Tap “return”, “enter” or “join” on your keyboard to join the Group

• We encourage everyone to ensure that all contact information submitted is accurate and up to date.
• While we are introducing the use of a new app “TeamReach” this information still will be used
• All information to sign-up for and register for the correct team will be sent via email.
  • So please ensure your email and phone number are current and up to date!
  • Also please check your email and text messages regularly to stay informed.

Necessary Equipment:

• Athletic wear (shorts or pants).
• Closed-toed shoes.
• Helmet (This equipment can be borrowed on game day, but may be shared by multiple players and may not fit correctly).
• Bat.
• Glove.

Recommended Equipment:

• Helmet facemask recommended.
