THE DATES FOR SUMMER VOLLEYBALL CAMP: TBD

Message from Robin:

Hi there! My name is Robin Ramseur and as a native of Shelby, NC, I am so excited to run your volleyball camp this year at Ruby Hunt’s YMCA! I remember trying out for the volleyball team for the first time in my 7th grade year in middle school. I was so curious about the sport. I had already been playing basketball and felt like trying something new. Serving and passing the ball seemed so hard to learn. However, with the help of an older cousin, I practiced until I got better. That preparation propelled me to make the team in my 7th-grade year and it eventually contributed to me being on the Crest High School volleyball team as one of the starters for our 2 year in a row conference championship team! Coach Jamie Wilson was my coach. I then went off to college and instead of playing for my Alma Mater, NCCU, I played for volleyball clubs so that I could be involved with Leadership Organizations on campus.

My personal passion and desire is to encourage adolescents, teenagers, and even young adults, to become positive leaders and not negative followers. I feel that my passion for volleyball is what drives my love for the game. I absolutely love how volleyball brings a team together. Volleyball is a sport where you truly get to see a great example of how the body of Christ works. We’re supposed to cover each other in prayer at all times so that when an attack comes our way, we can either block it or regroup by passing our attack to our number 1 setter (God the Father) so he can set us up for a win. My goal for this camp is to help campers have fun, learn the game, and be better to themselves. I can’t wait to see you at camp!
