Lifeguarding is not an easy job. It requires tremendous attention to detail, critical-thinking skills, and an understanding of how aquatic injuries occur and how to prevent them. Cleveland County Family YMCA Association has a history and reputation of training, hiring and maintaining excellence in aquatics/lifeguarding. You will have to pass a pre-swim test consisting of (300 yard swim using freestyle and breast stroke; Brick retrieval from depth 7ft 6inches in 1 minute 40 seconds; treading water for 2 minutes without using your hands).
