River Bend YMCA Golf Course - The First Tee of the Foothills

The First Tee of the Foothills teaches youth Life Skills through the game of golf. It is a locally operated and supported non-profit organization that introduces the fun and excitement of golf to young people from all walks of life, while exposing them to life-enhancing core values such as: Honesty, Integrity, Perseverance, Sportsmanship, Judgement, Respect, Confidence, Responsibility and Courtesy.

The Life Skills experience, a unique program that differentiates The First Tee from other junior golf programs, includes instruction in the classroom and on the course that focuses on instilling in youth The First Tee’s Nine Core Values. These values are taught through a golf-centered curriculum that ensures young people understand and apply them. The lessons learned by youngsters through the Life Sills Experience are designed to have a lasting, positive influence regardless of the role golf plays in their life. As part of The First Tee’s national organization, the Foothills chapter will be one of only 250 golf-learning facilities in North America. The First Tee of the Foothills offers an unforgettable experience for young people to grow and flourish through the mentorship of our program’s volunteers, staff and associates.
