Diabetes Prevention Class

Join a certified Diabetes Prevention Program Lifestyle Coach for a year long program.  Participants gather in a relaxed classroom setting and work together in small groups to learn how to incorporate healthier eating and moderate physical activity into their daily lives.


The YMCA’s Diabetes Prevention Program is a community-based lifestyle improvement program for adults with prediabetes. Its purpose is to empower adults with lasting lifestyle changes that will improve their overall health and reduce their chance of developing type 2 diabetes.


Currently, diabetes affects nearly 26 million people. Another 79 million have prediabetes and are at risk of developing diabetes, but only 11 percent are aware of it.


Research by the National Institutes of Health has shown that programs like the YMCA’s Diabetes Prevention Program reduce the number of new cases of diabetes by 58% overall and by 71% in individuals over age 60.

Homeschool Gym&Swim

Gym&SwimpicYMCA staff members will lead fitness games and activities for the 5-12 year old children.  Activities will include age appropriate strength conditioning and endurance training, and kick ball just to name a few.   We will spend approximately 40 minutes in the gym then transition to the pool for our swim time.  All ages will swim.

The teens will participate in a variety of fitness activities from basic strength training, cardio fitness, circuit training and running.  Exercise safety and healthy eating habits will also be taught and encouraged.

LIVESTRONG at the YMCA is a free program designed for cancer survivors 18 years and older who have become deconditioned or chronically fatigued from their treatment or disease. The goals of the program include:

  • Rebuilding muscular strength and endurance
  • Increasing flexibility and improving functional ability
  • Reducing severity of therapy side effects
  • Preventing unwanted weight changes
  • Improving self esteem and energy levels

Participants may be eligible for FREE 12‐week Family Membership and may use YMCA facilities at any time. Participants may bring a support person who can participate in a workout of their own.

AGE: 18 and older

COST: Thanks to the generosity of our donors, this program is free to participants; open to members of the YMCA and non-members.

REQUIREMENTS: Participants must receive medical clearance and are evaluated on an individual basis. Patients currently undergoing treatment may participate, but only if they receive proper medical clearance.  Health history forms and intake interview must be completed prior to first group meeting.

Group Exercise

Age: 15 years old and up. Children ages 10-14 may attend with a parent.

We offer over 50 Group Fitness classes each week and some are appropriate for YOU! Classes include Cycling, Yoga, Kickboxing, Zumba, Water Aerobics and more! We have experienced instructors, all nationally certified by ACE, AFAA, SilverSneakers®or theYMCA. Come try a class!

Schedule: Our monthly schedule is available online or at the Welcome Center.

Personal Training

Do you need some extra motivation or advice to improve your fitness level? Schedule a session with a YMCA Personal Trainer. All of our trainers have a nationally recognized personal training certification (ACE, AFAA or YMCA) and years of fitness experience.

By appointment with trainer, for members only ages 13 years and up.


1 Session: $40.00
6 Sessions: $210.00
12 Sessions: $360.00

Small Group Training:
2 on 1 Sessions ($25 each): $50.00
3 on 1 Sessions ($22 each): $66.00
4 on 1 Sessions ($20 each): $80.00

Payment must be made at the Welcome Center prior to all sessions. If you must cancel an appointment, please give 24 hours notice or you will be charged for that session.

Fitness Assessment

Age: 15 years and up

An appointment that can include checking and/or monitoring one or more of the following: weight, blood pressure, heart rate, circumference measurements, body fat analysis, BMI, Hip to Waist Ratio, three minute step test for VO2Max, flexibility, an abdominal crunch test and a series of strength tests.

FitLinxx is a computerized monitoring and tracking system. It is like having a computerized personal coach. The system uses the latest computer technology to ensure that you are exercising properly and efficiently. A member of the staff monitors your program and provides regular feedback and motivation to help you see better results more quickly than ever before. Earn points for completing your workout and to receive prizes.

Youth Wellness Orientation

Ages: 10-14 years old

All youth ages 10-14 must have this to be in our Wellness Area, whether downstairs weight room or upstairs room and track. This is the same as a regular orientation, just modified for youth. The member will be taught proper use of equipment, proper training techniques and can be set up on a workout plan. *Members must be 10 years old to use the Wellness Area (See Youth Rules provided in the facility)

Equipment Orientation

Ages: 10 years old an up

This appointment is for a member that’s new to our facility, new to working out altogether, or needs a review. During which you can learn proper use of the equipment and proper training technique.
