Parties include 45 minutes on the inflatable, 45 minutes in the pool, “I had my Birthday at the YMCA” T-Shirt, a host that will set up and conduct the activities you choose for your party, one (1) hour in the party room to enjoy food, cake, and open gifts, invitations, plates, cups, napkins, utensils, balloons, and Ice Cream.

Water Aerobics

We offer Deep Water, Basic, and Stretch and Tone. Please see the Group Exercise Schedule for more information.


Adult Private Swim Lessons

Ages: 15 & older

Offered for adults to work one on one with an instructor focusing on specific goals set by the swimmer.  Times are set at the convenience of the participant and the instructor.

Cost:
Members: $80*
Non-Members: $120*
*Covers four 1 hour sessions.

 


Youth Private Swim Lessons

Ages: 14 years & under

Offered for children who benefit from a one on one setting to learn and improve on their swimming skills.  Times are set at the convenience of the participant and instructor.

Cost:
Members: $60*
Non-Member: $100*
*Covers four 30 minute sessions.

 


Lifeguard Training

Lifeguard Training

Ages: 15 & Over

The training is American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Certification including CPR-PR, AED and First– Aid Certification.  Participants must be able to swim 300 yards continuously and must be able to swim 20 yards, dive to a depth of 7-10 feet and retrieve a 10 pound brick within a certain time.  Minimum age is 15 years.  Class sizes are limited and fill up quickly so register early! Youth Group Swim Lessons

Youth Group Swim Lessons

The Dover Foundation YMCA offers progressive swim lessons for ages 9 months to 12 years old.  We emphasize water safety, skill development and having fun in a safe and friendly environment with programs that meet the needs of each student.  Students learn at different rates and are usually in each level more than once.  Classes are divided into ability groups with a 1:5 teacher to student ratio.  Trained instructors emphasize personal safety, swimming skills, endurance and social skills, while guiding students with praise and encouragement.

Lessons are offered on Saturdays as well as through the week on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.  Preschool and Youth lessons are offered year round.

 

Parent Child Swim Lessons: Age 9-36 months

Parent child swim lessons offer a positive and fun environment to foster the parent-child relationship through water exploration.  Classes emphasize making the child feel comfortable in the water.

Dates & Times: March through September, Saturdays 8:45am-9:15am

Preschool Swim Lessons: Age 3-5

Pike

Designed for the beginner swimmer who cannot swim independently without the assistance of the instructor and cannot float on their back.  Teaches children skills including kicking, reaching, paddling, floating and blowing bubbles.

Days & Times: Year round, Saturdays 9:20-9:50am, Weekdays 4:30-5:00pm

Eel

Designed for the child who has advanced from Pike or can swim by themselves 1/2 the length of the pool with a flotation device and can swim with no flotation device for 5 yards.  Builds on Pike skills as well as increasing endurance.

Days & Times: Year round, Saturdays 10-10:30am, Weekdays 5:10-5:40pm

Ray/ Starfish

Designed for the child who has advanced from Eel or can swim 10-20 yards horizontally with no flotation device and demonstrate rhythmic breathing with a kickboard.  Children work on mastering skills to pass the swim test which includes swimming 1 length of the pool and treading water for at least 30 seconds.

Days & Times: Year round, Saturdays 10:40-11:10am, Weekdays 5:45-6:15pm

Youth Swim Lessons: Age 6-12

Polliwog

This beginner class is for the child who cannot swim the length of the pool.  Lessons reinforce basic swimming skills to improve ability to swim the length of the pool.

Days & Times: Year round, Saturdays 9:20-9:50am, Weekdays 4:30-5:00pm

Guppy

Designed for the child who has advanced from Polliwog or is able to swim the length of the pool on either front or back.  Introduces different strokes and diving.

Days & Times: Year round, Saturdays 10:00-10:30am, Weekdays 5:10-5:40pm

Minnow/Fish

Designed for the child who has advanced from the Guppy level or is able to swim front crawl with rotary breathing for 15 yards.  Works on increasing endurance to swim further distance.

Days & Times: Year round, Saturdays 10:40-11:10am, Weekdays 5:45-6:15pm

Flying Fish/Shark

Designed for the child who has advanced from the Minnow/Fish level or is able to swim 2 lengths of the pool breast stroke kick, 50 yards elementary back stroke kick, 50 yards front crawl with rotary breathing and 50 yards back crawl.  Focuses on technique development and introduces flip turns.

Days & Times: Year round, Saturdays 11:20-12:00pm, Weekdays 6:20-7:00pm

Dolphins Swim Clinic

Designed for advanced swimmers to work on refining technique in a team setting, but without the pressure to compete.  Swimmers will complete a practice session as well as take part in a team building activity.  Participants must be able to swim at least 2 lengths of the pool and have some knowledge of all strokes.

Days & Times: Tuesday & Thursday 6:15-7:15pm
