We actively engage them in fun programs, physical recreation and activities that emphasize character development and Christian values. We build relationships with them and encourage them to build relationships with each other.
We provide a safe atmosphere for children to develop physically, mentally, socially, and spiritually. We celebrate the initiative, energy and creativity of children. They learn to be honest, to be responsible, to respect each other and to care for on another. They learn important life skills and good sportsmanship. They develop self-confidence. They form lasting friendships. Our programs are led by a responsible and energetic staff of adults, college and high school students under the direction of full time YMCA professionals. Staff are fully trained with an emphasis on being exemplary role models at all times. Our programs are effective because of the quality of our staff. YMCA staff and programs exemplify our mission: Helping all people reach their God given potential in spirit, mind and body. June 16, 2008 - August 22, 2008
At YMCA Summer Camp... Children are our greatest treasures and greatest responsibility. YMCA day camp helps kids grow positively, meet healthy role models and learn good values—all while having fun. We not only provide memories that last a lifetime, but we also assure parents that their kids are in good hands during the summer. Day camp for youth—the most popular program offered by YMCAs—provides youngsters with a unique opportunity to connect with their peers and their community. At The Dover Foundation YMCA’s day camp, our campers enjoy a broad range of age-appropriate programs, events and activities. In addition to all of the activities offered at our day camp, parents also have the flexibility of enrolling their youngsters during sessions that suit their needs.

YMCA After School Program... Children deserve more than just babysitting from their after school program, they deserve excitement and adventure while building a healthy spirit, mind and body. That is exactly what the YMCA provides. The new Totally Fit Kids After School Program allows children to spend their afternoons in a safe environment. Children have fun in guided recreation, develop lasting friendships, and develop age-appropriate skills. The program focuses on the fitness of each child in spirit, mind and body. Each activity is planned specifically to help strengthen each child in one of these three areas. Our staff model and reinforce the values of caring, responsibility, honesty, respect and faith in God as they guide children through the daily activities.
