Financial assistance is based on ability to pay. It is the policy of the Cleveland County Family YMCA that no person be denied membership or program participation by reason of inability to pay fees. Funds made available for financial assistance are provided through the generous support by friends of the YMCA through the We Build People Campaign.
At the Cleveland County Family YMCA, one of our most important goals has always been to enrich the lives of kids in our community. But when some are left out, it leaves us all a bit poorer. That’s because giving kids a safe and nurturing place benefits everyone. By introducing them to experiences that will help them grow into responsible, successful adults, we make the community we love a better place to live. One child at a time. One family at a time.
YMCA programs teach young people important values such as faith, caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. Through a variety of fun and rewarding activities, they also develop valuable skills while they gain confidence and self-esteem. You simply can’t put a price on strengthening and enriching the character of a child.
Your Contribution Helps Make It Happen
Membership and program fees at the Cleveland County Family YMCA do not cover all the costs to support these vital community programs. To ensure that no one is denied a chance to participate because of inability to pay, we truly need your help. Through the We Build People Campaign, your contribution helps us provide program support and financial assistance to families who need it in our community. Only by working together can we give more kids the opportunity to grow spirit, mind and body.
Our Goal is Big So We Can Make A Difference!
This years We Build People Campaign is launched with an ambitious goal of raising $125,000. We ask that you please give generously so that more kids and more families in our community can share the YMCA experience. Donations from last year’s We Build People Campaign helped over 500 families experience the positive effects of YMCA programs and activities. Our success will always be measured by the lives we touch!
YOUR GIFT OF $10 A MONTH builds self-confidence in 8 teens by allowing the to attend the YMCA Christian Leadership Conference.
YOUR GIFT OF $25 A MONTH makes it possible for one child to attend summer camp and experience life enriching and life changing activities.
YOUR GIFT OF $50 A MONTH allows 4 teens to attend the YMCA Christian Values Conference.
YOUR GIFT OF $100 A MONTH enables 1 family to have after school child care for the school year.
Q. Why should I give money to We Build People?
A. As a charitable organization, the YMCA exists to help people grow in spirit, mind, and body. The YMCA breaks through boundaries that often separate communities. The We Build People campaign makes it possible for all people to experience the YMCA and all of its life-changing programs. The YMCA creates opportunities that result in new friendships, new possibilities for personal growth and a strengthened community.
Q. How much money goes directly to the YMCA and its programs?
A. Every dollar in our We Build People campaign goes directly to our financial assistance programs. Because of generous donors, we are able to provide financial assistance to people who could not otherwise be able to afford membership and program fees. The Y strives to reach out and serve all people. We want all people to be involved in the programs and services of the YMCA and grow in spirit, mind, and body. Administrative costs are funded through paid memberships.
Q. How do people qualify to receive financial assistance?
A. Financial assistance applications are available at every YMCA branch. Information collected on these forms help to determine the amount of assistance given to individuals and families. Members on financial assistance are given all of the same membership privileges as full-paying members.
