15th Annual YMCA Community Prayer Breakfast

The Dover Foundation YMCA hosted the 15th Annual YMCA Community Prayer Breakfast on Friday, May 21, 2010. The Prayer Breakfast was attended by over 240 people from across Cleveland County. The featured speaker was Clayton King. He is the founder and President of Crossroads Ministries and Crossroads Summer Camps. Clayton is the author of 5 books, including "Dying To Live" with Harvest House Publishers, releasing June 1, 2010 nationwide. Along with his many Crossroad ministries, he is also the Teaching Pastor at Newspring Church in Anderson, SC.Clayton and his wife, Charie have been married for 11 years. They have two children, Jacob and Joseph ages 7 and 4. They are proud members of the Cleveland County Family YMCA.

The key points to Clayton’s message was a charge not only to those in attendance but important for everyone. When it comes to children and the least of these, we need to follow Jesus' example:

1.  Praise them (give them encouragement)
2.  Play with them (spend time doing things with them that they love
3.  Be patient with them (remember they are kids)
4.  Pray for them (talk to God about them)

Another important highlight was the presentation of the 2009 Servant Leadership Award to the Dover Foundation for their continued support to our community.

Mrs. Patricia Camp provided music for the event. She not only sang a song she wrote but provided a testimony of how God has moved in her life.

The Cleveland County Family YMCA is very proud of their Christian Mission and the opportunity to share it with our community.
