It is the philosophy of the Cleveland County Family YMCA that no person or family be denied membership or program participation based on their inability to pay the standard fees. Our YMCA offers a program called Open Doors in order to help people access the life-changing services provided through our organization. Open Doors subsidizes standard membership and program fees.

Income-Based Membership Pricing

Bring in a copy of your 2007 Federal 1040 Income Tax Return (for verification purposes only) and You receive a discount on membership at the Ruby C. Hunt YMCA if your income is $35,000 per year or less.


Open Doors II

Financial Assistance is also available for those that did not file taxes through our Open Doors II process. See our Welcome Center Staff for more information and applications.

Hunt facility and Turner Family Aquatics Center.  Plus membership give a member access to the Ruby C. Hunt YMCA and the Dover Foundation YMCA and Kings Mountain Family YMCA.

All memberships are billed monthly using direct draft from your checking or savings account or a debit or credit card (the Ruby C. Hunt YMCA accepts VISA and MasterCard).  There are also quarterly and annual membership rates.  Ask for more information at our Welcome Center!

Military Outreach Initiative

As a spouse of a deployed Guard or Reserve member, you and your family are elgible to join your local, participating YMCA for FREE, courtesy of Military OneSource.

All you need to do is  come to our branch along with a copy of the deployment orders and your military ID card.
