Tonia and Edward Wilson reluctantly joined the YMCA after their two sons, Brandon and Bradley kept encouraging their parents to come workout with them. The Wilson’s all joined the Y and began a family membership where they worked out together. Both Tonia and Edward had health issues of their own and wanted to lose some weight. Day in and day out, Tonia and Edward would join their sons and made it a daily habit to come to the Y to workout. The family would do over an hour of cardio and weights combined each day. Once they got into a routine of working out; they also changed their eating habits. The family only drinks water now and they eat a lot of fruits and vegetables, instead of junk food. They hold one another accountable which helps them all stay motivated. Tonia quoted, “Our family loves the Y because of the friendly staff who are always so supportive and encouraging.” The Wilson’s recently reached their one year anniversary of working out at the Y together and have incredible news to share. As a family, they have lost over 120 pounds!! They are all amazed by the weight they have lost, especially their two sons. Brandon and Bradley are so proud of their parents for losing such a vast amount of weight. Edward has also been released off his blood pressure and cholesterol medicine since he lost over 65 pounds! The family is so thankful for the Y and the positive encouragement they received while working towards their personal goals. The Wilson’s have more energy than ever before and see this as a lifestyle change and not as a diet. They continue to work out daily at the Y and love to share their own story with others who are on a similar journey as the Wilson’s were.
